The Pass It On Missoula service began in November 2007 as an e-commerce website offering free and affordable, community donated, infant, toddler and maternity items to all Missoula area families. All were priced less than $5, or free to those in need, and all included FREE local Saturday delivery. The idea was simply to offer local families a convenient, affordable, and sustainable way to meet their basic clothing needs.
By February, 2009 PassItOnMissoula.com had connected with several community based organizations in an effort to spread awareness of our services, and was averaging over 8000 visitors monthly. PassItOnMissoula.com dissolved as an e-commerce service in autumn of 2009 and relocated to our first downtown storefront location, continuing to expand on our service model through 2010.
In September of 2010, Pass It On Missoula and Mountain Home Montana officially partnered to bring even more benefit to our Missoula area families. Now, Pass It On Missoula is a registered job skills training site for Mountain Home Montana interns, and a community supported clothing service for all Missoula area families. Community donations are accepted at the Pass It On Missoula and Mountain Home Montana locations, and infant, toddler and maternity items are redistributed locally through the Pass It On Missoula service, FREE to those in need and affordable for all at 3/$5! There are NO eligibility guidelines. The affordable pricing is reflective of the community’s continued support of the Pass It On Missoula and Mountain Home Montana programs.
